day 26
Day 26 03/03
No energy left, what a crap week. No time for talk, youth was great, hope to be at church. Something I must pray to God for; that he’ll begin to prepare my heart for outreach and my upcoming speech/testimony and that what I speak will be of God’s influence... Ciao!
Growing through temptation
Temptation is an opportunity to do good
When we do good instead of sin, we grow in character of Christ.
Jesus –
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control
Holy Spirit will give us circumstances, maybe the complete opposite, to fulfill these characteristics.
How temptation works
Desire
Doubt
Deception
Disobedience
Overcoming it?
Refuse to be intimidated – not to feel guilty, it isn’t a sin to feel temptation, but it becomes a sin when you fall for it.
Request God’s help
Cry out to God
Recognize your pattern of temptation and be prepared for it
Certain situations, one example for me when I’m hanging out with basket ballers (pretty sinful), I will be tempted to carry on like them
God blesses people who patiently endure testing. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12
Patience…
Temptation to well…put others down, or to take the easy way out of things due to impatience, it’s like I could easily deal with the problem by being patient but instead I’ll do something sinful to get rid of the problem…
Anyway, night, have an awesome weekend! GO
