Purpose #3!! You were created to become like Christ.

We can’t become God but we can become Godly.
Again, we’re not on earth to have a good time but to build character for eternity.
Becoming like Christ is changing our character, not our personality
Life isn’t all good times (not as my email suggests!) and I’m really beginning to grasp on to the fact that we go through everything to build a character, to grow from the miserable stuff, the good stuff…

Sanctification
-changing us to become more like Jesus
Christ likeness is not by imitation but my inhabitation, allowing Christ to live IN us.

Cooperate with the Holy Spirit’s work
Make every effort to becoming like Jesus
Let the spirit transform us, like a caterpillar à butterfly
Character = sum of our habits so develop good habits

God uses his Word, people and circumstances to mold us.
Truth / Support / Environment
Look around… people are there for a reason, we can grow spiritually together

Long slow process of Growth

Won’t happen over night, have said this a number of times, and it won’t finish til we get to heaven or when Jesus returns.

God’s most important priority is building our character
He wants to make us like himself before he takes us to heaven.

“As the spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more.
2 Corinthians 3:18b

Q/A

All aspects of my life, but some of the habits I have towards other people. Saying some pretty out of line stuff sometimes, not as much as I used to and it’s slowly decreasing…thanks to the Holy Spirit! Better habits around the house too I guess, and to use my time better…cough homework.
