day 19 cultivating community

Day 19 24/02

Youth was great today, had a Youth speaker from Hillsong talking about stepping in to the unknown, and wrote a bunch of stuff down so won’t bother to blog but he was great.

Thanks to Jason for a really awesome prayer. (and others)..i was touched really dude that was gold. Really felt God's prescence tonight like back at camp so that was really good..

Cultivating community

Swallow our pride…

-Admit our weaknesses, patient with other’s weaknesses, open to correction, pointing spotlight on others

Think about others before us! Something I must work on sometimes…

Courtesy

It has nothing to do with compatibility, we’re all family anyway!

Confidentiality

That stuff stays within the group; gossip… is bad, “God hate gossip”

Frequency

Speaking to each other, lots of people; we do that at youth I guess

So the 9 characteristics of a biblical fellowship:

Share our true feelings
Encourage each other
Support
Forgive
Speak the truth in love
Admit our weaknesses
Respect our differences
Not gossip
Make it a priority

Nothing much else to say personally…it’s all there.

Q/A

Well definitely speak to them about it, try to get these ideas across to other members of my small group but I guess NOOB class isn’t really my permanent group, wait for high school=ers I guess.
