Day 10...When Ashfield kids tried to start NSB!

Wow Day 10 only? I feel I’ve learnt and got so much out of this and it’s only been ten days…Cheers. Today was interesting, nearly got in a little fight school versus school at Ash field station, got out safely though…basketball for life! and i played awesome after a form slump..funny thing is i prayed for the game for the first time ever yesterday...!! haha

Anyway back to the book!

The heart of worship is surrender.

Surrendering to God…A month or two ago, I would not have been able to say that!! I’d be like…urgh, I want to live my own life, own goals, the boss of myself.
BUT!!...Good there is a but, now I see, it is NOT a terrible thing to surrender to God, in fact it’s one of the best thing we can do. We give yourselves to him because he loved us first. Offering ourselves to God is what worship is all about, putting ourselves out there and saying, God take me, guide me to whatever purpose you have for me, not mine.
Barriers that separate us from God = fear/pride/confusion.
Trusting God, if we fear God and don’t trust him, we can’t surrender. However love will cast out that fear, if we see just how much God has done for us, and how much he WILL do for us…, then why else wouldn’t you surrender!
Romans 5:8-9 shows the sacrifice, “God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.”, he wouldn’t send his very own son down to earth just to die us if he didn’t love us and care for us, and want all of us to accept him as a lover, not a tyrant.
Surrender our pride!! Life is a struggle because we’re all trying to play God, and well…you’ll never win that struggle! Ultimately you’ll end up like Satan =/ (He wanted to same thing)
If we give ourselves to God, the more of ourselves will come out…Because God is the one that made us, he has the purposes and plans for us, not us. Instead of trying harder in stuff, we’ll trust more.
Genuine surrender = knowing God can help you with whatever problem you have, but telling him that if it’s within his like…purpose for us, then not to. That didn’t make sense. An Example:
God if it is in your best interest to remove this suffering, please do so. But if it fulfills your purpose, that’s what I want too.
Blessing of surrender:
Peace
Freedom
God’s power in our lives

Surrender is the only way to live, and it may not necessary be to God, like for money or something. If we focus on ourselves and not God, how can we fulfill his purposes…we can’t!
I WILL put Jesus in control of my life, Jesus can’t get it wrong!, and with him, I can handle anything.
It’ll be tested - the decision we make to surrender to God…, but I’ll accept it and re-commit, because he’s helping me fulfill his purpose for me.
Surrender to God? ………….YES!!

Verse:
Surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purposes. Romans 6:13

What area of my life am I holding back from God?
A tough question… but I gotta say with my family. I’ve had these doubts that God won’t be able to save the crap we’re in sometimes and well, no that wasn’t the way to think. I’m going away from this knowing if I surrender to God, he will do what is right, what fulfills the purpose of my life. I guess I just gotta look to God, trust him and now I know I can…
