Day 06, We're not at home

Day 06, 11/02

Life is a temporary assignment; the world is not my home

I am here on earth for just a little while. (Psalm 119:19)

-Life is short…compared to eternity
-As David prayed, I need God to help me realize how brief our time on earth is and to see the world as God does.
-It’s like we’re visiting a foreign country (the earth) and just passing through
-Our citizenship is heaven, your identity is in eternity, and your homeland is heaven.
-Once we grasp this, we won’t have the attitude of “having it all”
-Flirting with temptations of the world is spiritual adultery
-Not to get attached too much as this is all but temporary
-Things today we see won’t last forever, but things we aren’t seeing will be eternal
-The fact that this isn’t our “ultimate home” explains why we experience hard times.
-God puts us through this to give a feeling of discontent, to show that this world is not our final home, that God made us for something better
-We’re not home, at death, we’ll go home.
-Takes faith to live here as a foreigner

Q/A

It changes the way I look at life, that it is not about material prosperity and to look at the biblical metaphors of life, That life is a test, a trust and a temporary assignment from God. That when times a hard, when everything is going against me, I can say that this is not my home and God is giving me a feeling of discontent to get this point to me…which is just awesome. IT also makes me want to get the message to my family, my non-Christian friends…
