Day 03, What drives your life?
Im a lil tired so a lot of this might not make sense. Oh well :D I bet you wont read it anyway
Day 03, 8/02/06
What drives your life?
What WAS my life driven by?
Last year -
-Resentment and anger builds used to build up some days and it often gets taken out on people who don’t deserve it at all or it mounts up on the person that is …annoying me. The idea of forgiveness didn’t cross my mind sometimes.
-Fear of getting involved in extra stuff at school, all those extra workshops and stuff it sort of crossed my mind but I wanted to “avoid risks”
-Need for approval – Mostly with my parents to get school grades sort of adds pressure to the situation. Luckily I did pretty well, or “excellent”, according to the report card thing.
I haven’t really being effected by peer pressure after I changed groups and hanged out with less a nicer, friendlier and much better group a year ago-ish. I’ve changed since that and I already see myself changing as a person since being saved on Jan 3rd.
But now, I can say my life will be driven by God.
-“No one can serve two masters” (Jesus)
Trying to impress and please everyone and being controlled by their opinions isn’t right.
-With a purpose, life is trivial petty and pointless.
-Nothing compensates for knowing God’s purposes for my life.
-By the end of these 40 days, I hope that my life is changed, into a “purpose driven life”.
-Life guided, controlled, and directed by God’s purposes.
Benefits of Purpose-Driven Living:
Knowing your purpose gives meaning to your life
-Without God, life has no purpose, and without purpose, life has no meaning. Without meaning, life has no significance or hope. Without meaning, life has no significance or hope.
Knowing your purpose simplifies your life.
-Without a clear purpose, you don’t have a foundation to base decisions, allocate your time and use your resources.
-If you want your life to have impact, focus.
-Do what matters, don’t confuse activity with productivity
Knowing your purpose motivates your life.
-Purpose always produces passion.
Knowing your purpose prepares you for eternity.
What did you do with my son, Jesus Christ?
-Where you spend eternity
-What you do in eternity
Verse:
“You, Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3
Q/A
What would my family and friends say is the driving force of my life? What do I want it to be?
Before being saved, others would have seen a driving force as anger and approval from others.
But now, my driving force is now God and well obviously right now friends/family will not have seen it that much, it has only been about a month. I do hope that they see the work God is doing in me, actually I know they will.

Hey - good to see what God does to our lives
how we change and how we build our christlike character
keep at it
amen and you too :D
I'm only going to comment on day 3 at cos that's what I'm up to =) It's so good as to how you're already on the journey to reinventing yourself for God; and how you have the strength to realise God is there for you, and there is no need to cater to the needs of everyone around you; I'm still trying to realise it.
You have inspired me to have the strength to realise what truly drives my life; and to start on that journey to becoming a better Christian again. =)
